Access All Areas’ Transforming Leadership programme has gone national.

In 2020-22, we ran a programme with Disability Arts Online that trained new learning disabled and autistic cultural leaders, and changed the way we think about leadership. From 2022-2025, we’ve come together with disability arts organisations and venues in 8 English regions to share what we’ve learned and to take this change across the country.

Making Work Accessible

On 12 March 2025, at a livestreamed event at The Lowry, Access All Areas and partners will share solutions from the programme for increasing employment for learning disabled and autistic creatives. We’ll talk about:

  • how to navigate benefits while freelancing
  • Access to Work for learning disabled and autistic creatives
  • co-leadership of creative spaces
  • Accessible board meetings
  • the impact of inclusive leadership.
I’m proud of how strong I have become as a leader as well as the learning and the observing of the coaching that I am taking in.

This programme has created new ways for venues and disability arts organisations to share knowledge on leadership and employment skills for learning disabled and autistic creatives.

We’ve teamed up with 7 other disability arts companies, 7 UK venues, and some of the UK’s best leadership development organisations, to make real and practical change and shake up the landscape of arts leadership.

Over the next 2 years, we’ll also share resources, tips, and stories about this work, including advice on Access to Work, Creative Support, co-leadership, and navigating the benefits system.

Hear from our programme leaders!

We’ve joined with Disability Arts Online to create a blog. 8 learning disabled and autistic leaders from arts companies around the UK will share what leadership, and this process, means to them.
