A Black Cab Company production

Right, hop in! You’re about to take The Knowledge.

Our cast, and occasional mischief-makers, will guide you through 50 years of the Black Cab Company, no shortcuts, no U-turns!

From the Rainbow Drama Group back in 1976 to the wild, wonderful chaos of today, we’re dishing up tales and memories, straight from the hearts and minds of learning disabled artists.

Every sketch and cheeky turn is a bit of precious knowledge we’ve been gathering for decades.

And tonight? You’re in for the cabaret ride of your life at Hoxton Hall. Buckle up for a joyfully loud, unapologetic celebration of disability arts, Hackney style.

The Knowledge is created and performed by Black Cab Company, Access All Areas’ community company.

The Knowledge Exhibition

Celebrating 50 years of learning-disabled creativity in Hackney, it traces our roots from the 1976 Rainbow Drama Group to the Black Cab Company of today. A celebration of community and the pioneering spirit that created a space where learning-disabled people could come together, express themselves and be seen.
