Creative Associates

Lesley Ewen

Creative Support, Director, Performer, Playwright

Lesley’s been with Access All Areas since 2017. Initially dramaturg on Cian Binchy’s The Misfit Analysisshe also contributed as Assistant Director and Performer. Since then; MADHOUSE: re-exit (director, Creative Support, performer, co-designer), ‘EveryDay Day Lee’ (director, co-creator); ‘Life Cycle of the Locusts’ (playwright); as well as serving as individual Creative Support for company members on numerous auditions and shows; ‘The Level and Grace’ (ITV), ‘Damned’ (Channel 4), ‘Faith Hope Charity’ (National Theatre) and Imposter 22 (Royal Court).

Lesley’s an award-winning director and playwright. She was also nominated for an Offie for her portrayal ‘Amanda’ in ‘The Glass Menagerie’; is the voice of ‘Gaia’ in Sony’s ‘Horizon Forbidden West’; and has accrued over 150 film, tv and theatre acting credits over the years. As well, she’s a performance tutor/coach, independently and at Rada (BA + MA Theatre Lab), Madrid AudioVisual Drama School, Concordia University, Mountview, Identity and Oxford

Liselle Terrett

Performance Artist and Director

Liselle is a neuro-divergent performance artist and director, challenging theatrical norms through a crip, queer, feminist, and radical approach. Her creative practice, mentoring, consultancy, teaching and writing centres on collaboration with learning disabled and neuro-divergent artists, addressing issues of exclusion and the binaries of ‘ability/disability’. Liselle co-founded Not Your Circus Dog Collective and co-created the award winning Not F**kin’ Sorry! She was awarded BAC’s Foyle Foundation Commission, 2022, creating Chatterbox on ADHD. Previously performing as Doris la Trine, she toured as a solo performance artist and has curated events including Wickedly Wild Cabaret for Women of the World, Southbank Centre, and Take Up Space Cabaret for Royal Court Theatre, 2018. In 2014, with Nick Llewelyn, Liselle co-founded Access All Areas’ Diploma in Performance Making. Liselle is an Associate Professor in Performance at University of East London

Selena Kelly

Creative Associate

Selena is a writer/director who trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has directed large-scale ensemble pieces, intimate productions, community theatre, youth theatre. She has written plays for adults and children. Selena also works as a Drama Facilitator at Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Directing/writing credits include:

Writing/directing 11 short films for the NHS, A Little Bit of Glitter in the Grey, Rose Bruford University, Bigot, Camden People’s Theatre; Home and Refuge (director/writer) for GSA; The Bower Wall (Druid, Galway); Betrayal (Trident Theatre, Galway); In High Germany, (Lion and Unicorn); More Light and Taking Breath Galway Arts Festival.

Selena is a Creative Enabler for Access All Areas Theatre, appearing as a performer/Creative Enabler in UnReal City.

She also provided coaching and creative support to learning-disabled artists on Jitney (Leeds Playhouse) and The Darkest Part of the Night (Kiln Theatre)

Selena has also collaborated on a sensory show for children at Royal Albert Hall.

Creative Support

Georgia Carnaby

Creative support/Workshop facilitator

Georgia has been a part of the Access All Areas team since 2021 when she began her Placement with AAA as part of her MA in Applied Theatre at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Prior to this, she studied Drama and Theatre Studies at Royal Holloway and the Acting Part-time course at Rose Bruford College.

Georgia has worked as creative support and as a facilitator across the Take Part and Train programme projects. She has supported emerging AAA artists on their Performance Diploma, been integrated creative support on “UnReal City” and supported audiences on “The Interrogation”.

Georgia’s practice is inclusive, celebratory and sensory.

Alongside Access All Areas creative support, she facilitates sensory dance, music and Soundbath and works as a performer in immersive theatre, burlesque and cabaret.

Hayley Hill

Creative support/Workshop facilitator

Hayley Hill is a director, facilitator, performer, creative support, physical practitioner, and yoga teacher. Her practice lies within the realm of movement direction, game, interactivity, audience participation, ensemble and rhythm, often using the body as the preeminent tool.

Since graduating from European Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College in 2011, she has worked professionally within the contemporary arts scene.

Hayley is a huge advocate for disability arts with a determination for inclusivity. Working as Associate Director, Creative Support and Facilitator at Access All Areas, projects include: MADHOUSE re:exit; Unreal City; The Interrogation, as well as leading workshops and directing performances on Departure Lounge, Black Cab and on the Performance Making Diploma at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Hayley also acts as a Creative Support, logistically and creatively supporting learning disabled and autistic actors across professional projects on stage and screen.

In addition to her work with AAA she is a Lead Performer and Associate Director of ZU-UK projects include: Hotel Medea; Humble Market; Within Touching Distance; Binaural Dinner Date and Radio Ghost.

She has also acted as Live Performance Manager/Director of BOOMTOWN Fair.

Hayley has also acted as Movement Director for a number of music videos and adverts. Hayley is based in London but has worked internationally across the UK, Russia, Mexico, Brazil and China.

Kathryn Bond

Creative support

Kathryn has been working with AAA as a creative support since the Manchester leg of the show Madhouse.

She has supported in both a theatre and TV setting and helped to facilitate workshops, and visits, and develop early stages of work, and often helps prep for those all-important auditions. She’s a huge fan of AAA work  and, as, feels lucky to be part of a company that is a leading light in the arts today.

When not creative supporting Kat is a comic, actress, writer and when not making shows with other theatre companies she is gigging her own unique comedy shows that combine stand-up and character comedy. Kat has written and performed in CBBC’s Bafta award winning ‘Class Dismissed’, and acted alongside Kerry Godliman in Amazon Prime’s ‘Whitstable Pearl’. She won The Funny Women Comedy Writing Award 2021 and has been developing scripts for TV. She is also a trained improviser with the Free Association.

Maristella Farina (Stella)

Creative support

With 15 years in access roles – specialising in theatre, performance, and screen – Stella aims to make lasting change through deep connection and compassionate attention to the diverse ways people experience the world, art, and their needs within it.

Aswell as offering creative support to Access All Areas’ artists, she collaborates with other individuals and companies, building strong relationships.

Stella’s access work provides both virtual and in-person support for people of all ages. Her holistic approach spans everything from creating easy-read materials to supporting in rehearsals, on theatre tours, on shoots and film sets, work placements, and training programs. You might even catch her performing from time to time in creatively integrated access roles.

She offers bespoke training, audience support, and access coordination and advocacy.

Through her coaching and mentoring practice, Stella holds space for clients and other access professionals to explore and navigate personal, physical, and societal barriers to work, life and wellbeing. She offers tailored support with access funding applications, access recruitment and much more.

Valentine Hanson

Creative support

Valentine is an actor, drama facilitator and storyteller from East London.

After studying at The London Academy of Performing Arts, he’s worked regularly in theatre in the west end, on tour and internationally as well as TV and independent film. Valentine has also in the role of facilitator has worked with companies such as Go Live, Half Moon Theatre, London Bubble, Kit Theatre and Bigfoot Education, and has also devised and directed projects for neurodiverse children and adults and young carers in education, community and cultural and heritage sites.

Valentine has done extensive storytelling sessions in schools, libraries and community events .He considers that the work carried out by AAA is a vital and necessary force for inclusion and empathy in the artistic sphere and beyond.

 

Gemma Rogers

Creative support

Gemma has been working for Access All Areas for several years. Her roles have included creative support for a learning disabled artist who was a regular on BBC’s Holby City, the same role has taken her to Cardiff to film Casualty, Oxford for Endeaver and BBC’s Eastenders.

Her skills lie in directing, mentoring, script learning, assisting with self tape filming and supporting whoever she is working with with energy, a sense of humour ( when appropriate!) and a high level of professionalism.

Gemma says, “It’s a total privilege to work with such a hands on, inclusive and committed team such as Access all Areas.”

Aoife Lennon

Creative support

Aoife is a freelance creative support worker, writer, and actor, as well as a trained teacher. Her journey as a creative support worker with Access All Areas began with ‘Imposter 22’ at the Royal Court Theatre. Since then, she has supported artists on various exciting projects, including a recent trip to Cologne for the Un-label Conference. Aoife works regularly with Graeae Theatre Company, with additional credits including Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Netflix, and the BBC.

Recently, she worked as a Project Manager with Go Live Theatre, overseeing their low-cost Summer Stage Programme for young people. Previously, Aoife taught drama in non-mainstream education, working across various SEN schools in London. Her debut play, ‘Vocation’, draws on her seven years of experience in this field.

Eben James

Creative support

Eben is a bilingual actor, musician and creative collaborator. He trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College, studying Actor Musicianship. He’s so excited to have recently joined Access All Areas as Creative Support.

Acting credits include You’ve Got Dragons (Taking Flight Theatre), ITOPIA (3 series, S4C), Llyfr Glas Nebo (Fran Wen), and Hansel & Gretel: Fairytale Detectives (Theatr Clwyd/Paperfinch Theatre).

Paloma Oakenfold

Creative support

Paloma is a graduate of Guildhall (BA Hons Acting) and Birkbeck (MFA Directing), as well as being trained under Sean Holmes at the Lyric Hammersmith as Resident Director in situ. Paloma has worked across UK theatres and drama schools including the National Theatre, the Old Vic, and running various BA, MA, and Foundation Courses.

Paloma is a co-founder of Bareface, a theatre company of disabled and autistic artists. Their defiant, comedic, autobiographical work has toured the UK including the Soho Theatre, and Underbelly, Edinburgh.

As an actor Paloma has starred in BAFTA winning comedy series Chewing Gum and ShowTime series The Borgias. Paloma is a member of the Fringe Wives Club, a feminist cabaret group. Their show Glittery Clittery won multiple awards including Mervyn Stutter Spirit of the Fringe Award at Edinburgh, and Best Cabaret at Adelaide Fringe.

Paloma is currently training with Patsy Rodenburg on her Associate Programme.

Makarena Marambio de la Fuente

Creative support/Workshop facilitator

Maka is a queer, disabled, Latinx creative access practitioner working with d/Deaf, neurodivergent, and disabled artists to create inclusive, meaningful work. Through Access All Areas, Maka supports the Take Part Programme, helping participants grow creatively and gain confidence.

They’ve collaborated with UK organizations like Drunken Chorus and Unlimited, and currently work as the Access and Wellbeing Officer at Oily Cart, focusing on sensory theatre. Internationally, Maka engages with Paisaje Público and the CircoStrada Network, championing disability leadership in contemporary circus and public spaces.

With an MA in Applied Theatre, Maka is also a certified Mental Health First Aider, amateur photographer, and cat lover. They bring a dedicated, creative approach to access and wellbeing in all their work.

Antonio Soto

Workshop Facilitator

Antonio is a dedicated sound therapist with extensive experience working with individuals facing profound physical and learning disabilities. His work as a music facilitator for organisations such as Access All Areas and the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children has given him invaluable experience in supporting those dealing with a range of mental and physical health challenges.

Using sound and vibration as powerful tools, he combines traditional techniques with his background as a professional musician, sound engineer, and music producer to craft personalised therapeutic sound journeys. His sessions incorporate a wide array of music instruments and multi sensory elements.

Xan Dye

Workshop Facilitator

Xan Dye is an independent artist whose practice emerged from a time in their life when they were learning about their neurodivergence and beginning to explore what a movement practice could offer in relation to this.

Challenging fixed and rigid binaries, Xan explores how they embody trans non-binary, neurodivergent, queer ways of being and thinking, working with others to create radical spaces for sensing and sensitive ways of being in our bodies and in community. Xan’s practice is particularly interested in what happens when we frame stimming as dancing and what we can learn from rhythmic, repetitive self regulatory movement patterns.

Xan is an experienced facilitator with expertise in inclusive practice, working for organisations including Candoco Dance Company, Access all Areas and Entelechy Arts. Xan’s work is supported by Arts Council England and platformed at venues including the Place and Independent Dance.

Christopher Holt

Diploma Tutor – Voice coach

Christopher Holt is a Voice coach, director, actor, singer, educator and academic.

He has taught Voice for 30 years and is passionate about working in inclusion and empowering students to achieve and evolve.

Training at Middlesex Polytechnic, he gained a BA Performing Arts, and a Masters in Theatre Directing from Royal Holloway.

Christopher has specialised in Applied Theatre for over 20 years and has worked with Access All Areas, Graeae, Fingersmith and Face Front.

As Voice coach, he has worked at the National Theatre, the Royal Court, the Lyric Hammersmith, Sheffield theatres and the Royal Exchange.

As performer, he has worked nationally and internationally in musical theatre, opera, plays and film. He appeared in many West End shows including The Lion King, Les Misérables and CATS.

Christopher is a Senior Lecturer at London Metropolitan University, Fellow of the Higher Educational Academy and Associate Theatre Facilitator of Outside Edge Theatre Company.

Daniel Oliver

Diploma Tutor

Daniel Oliver is a performance artist and lecturer. He makes raucous, dyspraxic-led participatory performance worlds that have been shown throughout the UK and overseas for over 20 years. He currently lectures on the Experimental Arts and Performance BA at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

He has published writing on neurodiversity, audience participation, and the value of celebrating awkwardness. This incudes Awkwoods: Daniel Olivers Dyspraxic Adventures in Participatory Performance, published by the Live Art Development Agency in 2019. 

Mairi Hayes

Diploma Tutor

Mairi is a Head of Short Course Programmes at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.

She is an arts professional with over 16 years’ experience. She has experience in acting, directing, making performances, teaching, and managing courses & projects. At Central she manages the youth theatre, evening courses, summer course, diploma course and the artist development programmes.

Mairi’s originally trained and worked extensively as an actor with companies including the BBC, ITV, West Yorkshire Playhouse, and The Southbank Centre. She holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Hight Education and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Mairi works with Access All Areas’ on the Performance Making Diploma.

Patricia Hitchcock (Tricia)

Creative Coach/Creative Support/Workshop Facilitator

Tricia trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and worked in the industry for over ten years. She now works as an acting coach, specializing in coaching and support for neurodivergent actors.

Her work includes productions at The Barbican, The Donmar, The Kiln, The Old Vic, Netflix, ITV, and the BBC.

Tricia met Access All Areas in 2016 while completing an MA at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She loves working with the performance company actors, and has coached, supported and lived alongside the actors on projects including MADHOUSE re:exit; UnReal City; Jitney; Faith Hope and Charity, The Last Shoes and The Darkest Part of the Night.

Tricia also delivers acting workshops. She is passionate about the Art of Acting and uses her extensive experience to create practical, useful tools which the actor can easily absorb and apply. Workshops include: Italia Conti; South West Equity; Bristol Old Vic Theatre School; the Actors Centre and Access All Areas.

Her work is fully inclusive, always bespoke, and always fun.

Digital

Amelia Long

PA to our Digital Content Producer

Amelia is a freelance Creative Access PA in the Digital Team at Access All Areas.

She is Access PA to Access All Areas’ Digital Content Producer Hannah Dingle and works with Hannah on both the strategic and delivery side of Access All Areas digital projects. She extensive access support experience with multiple theatre and arts projects, as well as flexibly providing bespoke long-term access support to individual neurodivergent artists.

Through offering a mixture of physical in-the-room support, and online support including voice and video call, she provides a broad spectrum of creative andadministrative support focussed on communication, sensory and emotional access needs. More specifically, some of her tasks working with Hannah include collaborative prioritising and translating inaccessible situations as well as researching content for the digital series “5 Shows by Disabled Artists”.

Before joining Access All Areas, Amelia has worked in diverse roles across the healthcare, arts and cultural sectors in which she oversaw administrative processes, ensured accessible communication and facilitated inclusive activities.

Amelia takes a collaborative, non-invasive approach to support work and specialises in developing creative strategies rooted in adaptability and playfulness.

Jo Harrison

Graphic Designer

Jo started collaborating with Access All Areas in 2021, initially focusing on communications for the Performance Diploma. Since then, she has played a key role in developing core visuals, including the rebrand and website design.

Her work with Access All Areas also involves creating impactful illustrated visuals for theatre productions including The Interrogation, Sanctuary, and A Small Enclosed Room with Alfie Murphy.

Her broader work is across the arts, education and women’s sectors with a particular specialism in producing visuals for complex and sensitive campaigns and infographics using design, illustration and animation.
