Easy Read
Easy Read is a form of written communication that combines images and text, and is used by many learning disabled people.
This training is often useful for production staff who will be making written documents for learning disabled colleagues, as well as for marketing and communication teams.
We provide this training in-person or on Zoom, always co-facilitated by a learning disabled or autistic trainer.
The sessions give an overview of learning disability and autism, an introduction to neurodiversity, and give a full grounding in creating accessible Easy Read documents. They include:
- Introduction to accessible communication
- Assessing a production’s current communication styles and materials
- How to create Easy Read materials
- Using “Easy English”
- Developing an in-house Easy Read style
Each participant will create an Easy Read about an event or subject of their choice during the session. A team attending a session can therefore leave with a full suite of Easy Read materials.

We found the Access All Areas Easy Read training to be incredibly useful and informative. It has given us a lot more confidence in how to prepare accessible documents in Easy Read which is exactly what we needed.
The workshop was well structured, and delivered in a friendly and accessible way. The offer of follow up support was hugely appreciated, so that we can embed this learning properly.
I would highly recommend this training to others. Access All Areas are very knowledgeable and a joy to work with.
