Accessible Casting

We’ve supported some of the world’s leading casting directors to create more inclusive processes for learning disabled and autistic talent. We’ve trained the Casting Directors’ Guild, and supported casting across a range of stage and screen productions.

We provide this training in-person or on Zoom, always co-facilitated by a learning disabled or autistic trainer.

The sessions give an overview of learning disability and autism, an introduction to neurodiversity, and details steps you can take to make your casting process more inclusive. They include:

• Accessible communication and callouts
• Visual stories for audition days
• How to create a familiar and welcome environment
• The role of 1:1 Creative Support in the audition process
• Effective approaches to working with scripts
• Language and the social model of disability
• Representation of learning disabled and autistic people in the media
